Information used to operate FOMO
We process account details such as your email, username and profile; event listings and uploaded images; registration, ticket, check-in and order activity; support requests; account sessions; and technical/security records. Passwords are stored as hashes. Payment processing is handled by Stripe; FOMO uses payment identifiers and transaction summaries rather than storing complete card details.
Why we process it
We use information to authenticate accounts, deliver tickets and service messages, operate discovery and organizer tools, respond to support, reconcile payments, process refunds, and prevent misuse. Notification preferences are available in account settings. Service messages about security, orders and event changes are separate from optional marketing emails.
What others can see
Public organizer profiles and public event listings are visible to visitors. Organizers can access attendee information needed to manage their event. Optional public guestlists require opt-in and respect guestlist privacy settings. Unlisted links can be forwarded by anyone who receives them; unlisted is not the same as password protection. Do not put sensitive information in public content.
Service providers and sharing
FOMO uses service providers including AWS for hosting, storage and email, and Stripe for payments and connected-account services. Those providers process information needed for their services. We may disclose relevant records to resolve a payment dispute, investigate abuse, comply with applicable obligations or protect users. External ticket sites and embedded media have their own privacy practices.
Cookies, measurement and security
A session cookie keeps you signed in. Browser storage is used for product preferences and onboarding. Aggregate product counters record stages such as checkout creation and confirmed ticket issuance without including account IDs, email addresses or payment details in those counters. Operational infrastructure may separately record request/security information. Payout-risk identifiers are pseudonymized with keyed hashes and expire after up to 180 days; access to risk evidence is restricted.
Retention and requests
We retain information needed to operate your account, deliver events, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and satisfy recordkeeping obligations. Some financial, audit and dispute records must remain after an account request. Request access, correction, an export or deletion through Privacy Requests or the support email. We verify your identity before disclosing or changing private records and explain any information we must retain. Deletion is not automatic on submission.
